Berea Project

They received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. -- Acts 17:11

Berea Project is a site dedicated to going back to the Bible and examining it as the primary source for what we believe. The site contains resources and articles designed to help anyone who desires to study the Word of God. We are also creating tools to help ministers teach God's Word to others.

This site is under construction. We have been working on our layout and are about finished. We will start adding content soon. For now please enjoy the devotions that we have so far. Feel free to email me at jbatchelor@bereaproject.org if you would like to contribute your own articles, sermons or other materials. I have forms on several sections of the site asking for feedback and ideas specific to those areas of the site as well.

Bio:

My name is Joshua Batchelor and I am the creator of BereaProject. My dad, Rev. Dale Batchelor, started a church in Portsmouth, NH 3 months before I was born. I am blessed with wonderful parents that taught me by example what it means to sacrifice and to live for God. Early on my dad worked two jobs while pastoring so that my mother could stay home and raise my brother and me.

My mother took a teaching job at a Portsmouth Christian Academy when I entered jr high to spare me from the public schools in our area. It was there, surrounded by differing forms of Christianity, that I learned both to defend my faith and to do so in a non-confrontational way. I will always be grateful to my teachers for creating a safe place for us to explore our faith and for instilling in us a desire to learn.

After PCA, I had a short stint at a community college I felt God call me to go to Gateway College of Evangelism. I spent 5 wonderful years there earning degrees in Practical Theology and Christian Ministries - Biblical Studies Emphasis. After college, I spent a year building the new sanctuary for our church in Hornbeak, TN. I then returned to Gateway as a staff member and until we merged with Urshan Graduate School of Theology. Shortly after the merger, I returned to Hornbeak to minister there for seven years. Now we are located in Olathe, KS assisting Rev. Mark Blackburn in starting Cross Church KC.

Please email me at jbatchelor@bereaproject.org if you would like to contribute your own articles, sermons or other materials. We are developing a community of quality writers and christian content creators. Content guidelines are coming but are not in a written form yet. Please stay tuned.
